Located in the heart of Cocoa Village, come see what keeps our students getting TOP SCORES.

If you’re ready to earn a great score on the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, or in your advanced math and science coursework, you’ve come to the right place. We offer one-on-one tutoring, small group SAT/ACT classes, as well as mock SAT/ACT practice tests, all at the office in Cocoa Village.

For the fastest service, either request a free, in-person or virtual 30-minute consultation, or complete our Intake and Availability Form. You can also email us with questions at mel@ingramcenter.com or fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page, and we will email you with a few callback or consult times. At the Ingram College Prep Center (formerly Ingram Test Prep), we take standardized testing and college-level math and science tutoring seriously, but we think learning should be fun!

Summer Tutoring Hours:  Monday to Thursday, 12pm to 9pm; Friday, 10am to 6pm.

Summer Administrative Hours (when we’ll be calling/texting you back!): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 3pm to 9pm

The first question you should pose to any SAT tutoring agency is the test score of the tutor who will be working with your student. Tutors must have expert subject knowledge to be able to teach it. We are proud to say that all of our tutors have SAT 1550+ and/or ACT 34+ scores -that’s the 99.5th percentile and higher.

Not only are we experts at the material, we also know how to motivate students to put in the hard work necessary to achieve outstanding results of their own, with students regularly exceeding their own score goals, in fewer hours than they imagined. We each have track records of significant student score improvement at all score levels, from students who need remedial help to students aiming to get an SAT 1500+ and/or ACT 34+. We teach content and strategies in Reading, Science, English, and Math. We motivate students and inspire confidence in their abilities that helps them achieve their SAT and ACT goals, as well as to earn top grades in AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, College Algebra, AP Statistics, and more.

We offer both in-person and virtual tutoring. Your choice!

Note: The next official SAT dates are August 26, 2023; October 7, 2023; November 4, 2023; and December 2, 2023. The next official ACT dates are July 15, 2023; September 9, 2023; October 28, 2023; and December 9, 2023. All US universities, as well as the Bright Futures scholarship, accept either test without preference. You do NOT need to submit both.
Note: Class of 2024 and 2025 students are encouraged to start SAT/ACT preparation now. Rising juniors (or any students who have completed Algebra II) are at the ideal moment to invest in test preparation, if the goal is several hundred points improvement before application season kicks off in the fall of the senior year. Don’t delay!

Happy Families

Mel Ingram is wonderful! My son took a 6 week ACT prep course with Mel. He bettered is original score of 27 with a 31, which qualified him for the Bright Futures’ Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) covering 100% of his in-state college tuition. Money well spent.

When my daughter was struggling with her college entrance exams, I once again turned to Mel. With Mel’s help, my daughter also raised her score multiple points. Just recently, Mel helped her study for a college Algebra final. She nailed it with a 90% after receiving average scores most of the semester.

But, more important than the test scores was the confidence Mel instilled in my daughter. She left every tutoring session feeling smarter, believing that she could and would do well. For that, I will forever be grateful. Mel has the amazing ability to break down concepts and reach students on their level. I cannot recommend Mel Ingram enough.

Ginger A., an MIHS parent

Mel is absolutely amazing. She tutored my son for 10 weeks and raised his score from a 22 to a 28 on the ACT. Now she is tutoring my daughter. If you’re looking for a ACT or SAT tutor, she is the best!

Small Group Classes

Engaging, dynamic small group instruction.

2022-2023 small group SAT/ACT classes are underway! You can enroll at any time; classes are designed so that new students can start at any point. There are several different class levels available this academic year. Each group class meets weekly and is limited to eight students.

Cost

Each two-hour session is $60, and each 1.5-hour session is $45, paid by credit/debit card only, at the time of the session or through the pay link in the confirmation email. If you miss a class, you do not pay, provided we receive notice by text/email at least 48 hours before the class start time.

What’s included, and what are classes like?

With the classes separated by score level, your learner gets personalized attention in every class. All course materials are included – there’s no need to purchase additional supplies or books.  We use only official, previously released exams in our prep. In each class, we work through chunks of material in the SAT and the ACT, across all sections of the test – Reading, Writing and Language (English), Math, and Science – that have been carefully selected for each group’s score level. Students work through practice problems at their own pace while Mel helps every student in turn. For questions that stump everybody, we come together for mini-lessons. Students enjoy the active learning, which is one of the best ways to learn (and retain) new material.

When can I start?

We’ve designed the group classes to be self-contained units so that no student will come in feeling “behind” the other students. You can start anytime.

Who leads the group classes?

Maxwell (“Mel”) instructs our public SAT/ACT small group classes.

Mel Ingram founded the Ingram College Prep Center (formerly Ingram Test Prep) back in 2014 upon returning from Argentina, where they had cofounded and run their first test prep company, USA Tutors Buenos Aires, for several years. Mel has earned a 1600 SAT and 36 ACT, as well as 337 GRE, and has over a decade of full-time experience running tutoring programs for high school and college students in a range of subjects spanning the humanities, grammar and composition, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. A graduate of Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School (’09), New York University (’12) and master’s student at the University of Pennsylvania (’18), Mel knows firsthand what it takes to succeed at elite universities.

Regardless of whether you choose group classes or private tutoring, all families will interact with Mel, who you will meet with at the beginning of your test prep program and will be involved in your student’s journey toward success behind the scenes. Mel focuses their time onboarding new students, assisting and strategizing test prep plans with the other tutors, training staff, and keeping all the schedules and data cohering.

Henry

Henry tutors on Mondays-Thursdays, 12pm-8pm, and on Fridays, 10am-6pm.

Henry’s rate is $90/hour, or prepay for 20 hours with Henry for $1675 ($83.75/hour).

All of Henry’s tutoring appointments are private one-on-ones or private small groups (siblings or group of friends only, not strangers).

Henry Beavers has been with the Ingram Center since 2020. Mel and Henry met as children at Merritt Island Christian School, attended Edgewood Jr/Sr High together (Class of 2009), then lost touch for over a decade before making a fortuitous reconnection here in Cocoa Village. Mel remembered that Henry was insanely smart in high school and was often at the Merritt Island Barnes & Noble tutoring other Edgewood students, and they’ve been working together ever since. The powerhouse of the Ingram College Prep Center, with an SAT 1550 to his name, Henry has the tremendous ability to raise scores for all students, regardless of whether they are starting in the SAT 900s range or already pushing SAT 1300+ scores. He works full-time, year-round, exclusively as a tutor for the SAT/ACT, Calculus and other maths, as well as the LSAT. On weekends, Henry can be found installing doors, building walls, and otherwise literally constructing the Ingram Center.

Owen

Owen tutors on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 12pm-6:30pm. He will be moving away in August, at which point all continuing students will move to Mel and/or Henry’s schedules, per student preference and scheduling availability.

Owen’s rate is $90/hour, or prepay for 20 hours with Owen for $1675 ($83.75/hour).

All of Owen’s tutoring appointments are private one-on-ones or private small groups (siblings or group of friends only, not strangers).

Owen has grown quite the fan base since he started tutoring at the Ingram Center in Spring 2022. After scoring an SAT 1540 and outcompeting about 50 other applicants, Owen’s credentials and previous experience helping students succeed made him stand out. He now has built up an excellent track record of improving test scores and increasing student confidence.

Owen is now a senior in the Cocoa Beach International Baccalaureate program and has been admitted to the University of Chicago Class of 2027! Students who work with Owen love that he is relatable and close in age, super familiar with all things test prep, a calm presence, and, of course, a fantastic explainer of all things SAT and ACT, as well as Calculus and other math.
